Choose an Interakt alternative by testing the workflow you need to improve. CampaignHQ covers what teams use Interakt for on WhatsApp (shared inbox, chatbots, broadcasts and Shopify flows) and adds email and SMS in the same journeys. WATI, AiSensy, Gupshup, Gallabox, DoubleTick and Zoko each lean toward a different messaging need. Compare customer data, automation, reply ownership and migration requirements before replacing a setup that may already work well.
Last updated: 4 November 2026. This guide is for Indian marketing and retention teams managing 10K+ contacts, often at companies with 50–500 employees. It compares documented capabilities and practical buying tests, not guaranteed results or an independent performance ranking.
When should you replace Interakt?
A useful reason to switch is a workflow your current setup cannot support reliably: an email nurture sequence disconnected from WhatsApp replies, repeated reminders after purchase, or unclear ownership when a customer needs help. Start with the failed workflow, not a longer feature list.
Interakt is not limited to a storefront or basic inbox. Its automation product page describes campaigns, audience segmentation, WhatsApp Flows, checkout automation and agent assignment. Check whether configuration or an existing integration solves your problem before paying for a migration.
For a category-wide shortlist, use the WhatsApp marketing platforms guide. If failed delivery is the main problem, diagnose why WhatsApp business messages are not delivered first. A new provider does not remove Meta’s platform rules or a customer’s messaging preferences.
For teams evaluating one shared customer record across channels, review CampaignHQ WhatsApp workflows alongside the email and commerce processes you already use.
Set your buying criteria before booking demos
Give every vendor the same sample journey. For example, a consenting customer receives an email, asks a question on WhatsApp, speaks to an agent and purchases. The remaining reminders should stop. Treat this as a test scenario, not a promised result.
- Customer data: Which system owns consent, preferences, purchase state and contact identifiers? Show how updates reach every channel.
- Automation: Can the journey branch on a reply, purchase or service escalation? Ask who builds and maintains each connection.
- Reply ownership: Can an agent see the relevant history, take over and prevent a bot or campaign from sending a conflicting response?
- Measurement: Can the team distinguish delivered messages and clicks from completed purchases, bookings or qualified enquiries?
- Commercial scope: Request an itemised quote for platform access, users, numbers, integrations, onboarding and message usage. Confirm which capabilities belong to the quoted plan.
The broader WhatsApp marketing software shortlist helps compare operating models. The platform evaluation guide adds questions for your vendor demo.
Seven Interakt alternatives by buyer need
Shortlist two or three options that match your bottleneck. Native email sending, a connection to an email tool and support across several channels are different capabilities. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the exact combination rather than relying on a yes/no channel matrix.
| Platform | Leans toward | Test in the demo |
|---|---|---|
| CampaignHQ | Full WhatsApp platform (inbox, chatbots, broadcasts, Shopify flows) with email and SMS built in | One journey across WhatsApp, email and SMS from the same contact record |
| WATI | Connecting messaging to CRM, ecommerce and email tools you keep | Which events and fields move between systems, and who maintains the connector |
| AiSensy | WhatsApp broadcasts, live chat and no-code flows | A campaign that turns into a sales or support conversation |
| Gupshup | AI support agents across voice and messaging | How customer context reaches the agent conversation |
| Gallabox | Lead qualification, bookings and CRM-connected sequences | A real lead-stage change as the trigger |
| DoubleTick | Several numbers and teams under one inbox | Permissions, assignment and reporting across numbers |
| Zoko | Shopify commerce inside WhatsApp | Your cart, order and COD events against your current setup |
1. CampaignHQ: a full WhatsApp platform, plus email and SMS
CampaignHQ is our product, so it is listed first. It runs on the official WhatsApp Business API and is a Meta Business Partner. It covers what teams use Interakt for on WhatsApp: a shared team inbox, no-code chatbot flows, broadcast campaigns, and Shopify cart recovery and COD confirmations. It also supports WhatsApp voice calling and coexistence, so you can keep the WhatsApp Business app and the API on the same number, and it paces campaigns to your Meta messaging limit.
Email and SMS are built in, so one journey can continue across WhatsApp, email and SMS from the same contact record. CampaignHQ is SOC 2 Type II audited and an AWS Partner.
This fits a marketing team that wants an email welcome sequence, timely WhatsApp follow-up and a shared view of customer progress. The buying test is whether your actual customer events, consent rules and reply handoffs work together, not whether the demo can send one message on each channel.
In the demo, confirm your CRM or store integration, event mapping and onboarding plan. A unified platform still needs your data connected.
For the related vendor set, see the CampaignHQ, AiSensy and WATI comparison.
2. WATI: connected messaging and team workflows
WATI’s integration overview lists CRM, ecommerce, email/SMS marketing and workflow-automation connections. It also describes APIs and webhooks. That makes it worth testing when your team wants to retain existing business tools and connect messaging to them.
Ask the vendor to show which events and contact fields move between systems, how failures are reported and who maintains the connector. An integration listing is a starting point, not proof that your full lifecycle journey is supported.
Use the WATI alternatives guide if WATI itself becomes your main comparison point.
3. AiSensy: WhatsApp campaigns and conversational flows
AiSensy documents broadcasts, multi-agent live chat, campaign analytics, no-code chatbot flows, WhatsApp forms and payments. Consider it when the immediate job is running WhatsApp campaigns and handling the conversations they generate. If AiSensy is the tool you are replacing, see the AiSensy alternatives shortlist.
Test a campaign that becomes a sales or support conversation. Confirm segmentation, agent routing and what stops subsequent messages. If email belongs in the journey, ask how that specific sequence will connect to your email system.
4. Gupshup: conversational support across systems
Gupshup’s support offering describes self-service AI agents across voice and messaging, with routes to human assistants. It is relevant when your comparison includes support workload and access to business systems, not just campaign sending.
Bring both the marketing owner and the implementation owner to the evaluation. Ask how customer context moves into an agent conversation, what the integration requires and which channel capabilities are included in the proposed product. Support-channel coverage alone does not establish an email marketing journey builder.
5. Gallabox: no-code WhatsApp automation and CRM connections
Gallabox describes a drag-and-drop workflow builder, behaviour-based sequences, bot-to-human handoffs and CRM integrations. Evaluate it for lead qualification, appointment booking and automated follow-up. These are broader jobs than a basic shared inbox.
Use a real lead-stage change as the demo trigger. Check whether it updates the CRM, starts the correct sequence and assigns the conversation to a person when needed. Confirm connector scope and plan restrictions rather than assuming all integrations behave alike.
Gallabox vs Interakt: the two overlap on inbox, broadcasts and automation. Gallabox puts more weight on lead stages and CRM-connected sequences; Interakt puts more weight on storefront jobs such as cart recovery, order updates and catalogue sync. Pick the one built around the job you run most often.
6. DoubleTick: multi-number operations and governance
DoubleTick describes a unified inbox, multi-number campaign management, a no-code bot studio, CRM synchronisation and conversation analytics. Consider it when several teams or numbers need coordinated handling and oversight.
Ask the vendor to demonstrate team permissions, assignment, access to customer history and reporting across numbers. Then test the journey beyond the inbox. Managing conversations centrally and coordinating email retention are separate requirements.
7. Zoko: Shopify-focused WhatsApp commerce
Zoko positions its product around Shopify stores. It describes catalogue synchronisation, selling inside WhatsApp and flows such as cash-on-delivery confirmation and connected Shopify workflows.
Shortlist it when the workflow you want to improve is store-specific. Compare the actual cart, order and support events with your current Interakt implementation. Switching between commerce-focused products is worthwhile only if the new setup solves a demonstrated problem.
What switching from Interakt can and cannot save
Many teams look for an Interakt alternative to cut message costs. Part of every WhatsApp bill does not move when you change provider. Meta charges per delivered message, by message category (marketing, utility, authentication, service) and by the country code of the number you send to, and Meta sets and publishes those rates. Each number also gets 1,000 free service messages a month, and messages inside the free entry point window opened by a click-to-WhatsApp ad are free, whichever provider you use.
What a switch can change is the provider’s own charge: the platform fee, any amount added on top of Meta’s fee, and the cost of extra users, numbers or integrations. Ask every vendor, Interakt included, to quote Meta’s fee and their own charge as separate lines for the same monthly volume. Our Interakt pricing guide explains Interakt’s plans, and WhatsApp Business API pricing in India covers Meta’s side. If the saving on paper is small, the better reason to switch is a workflow that the current setup cannot run.
Use your business workflow to break a tie
Ecommerce and D2C
Preserve the store events that already work. Interakt’s Shopify integration page describes cart recovery, order updates and catalogue synchronisation. Test those events on the proposed replacement, including purchase suppression and support handoff. If the missing job is email retention, compare adding a dependable connection with moving to a shared platform.
Edtech and coaching
Test the path from enquiry to enrolment: lead ownership, appointment reminders, detailed email information and a WhatsApp reply that changes the next step. The coaching institute automation guide gives workflow examples. Do not use the same sequence for a new enquiry and an enrolled learner.
Real estate and other lead-led businesses
Test assignment, site-visit reminders and follow-up after a conversation. A useful system should help the next agent understand what happened, not simply send another reminder. See the property dealer WhatsApp guide for that operating context.
Practical Interakt migration checklist
A phone-number move is only one part of migration. Contacts, conversation records, integrations and journeys need their own acceptance tests. Agree on what will transfer, what needs rebuilding and who signs off before switching production traffic.
- Inventory consent and templates. Record consent sources, opt-outs, message categories, active templates and approval status. Check your handling against the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy. Changing platforms does not create new permission to contact someone.
- Document the customer model. List fields, tags, segments, purchase events, conversation ownership and reporting records. Ask each provider which exports and imports are supported; do not assume chat history or automation definitions transfer.
- Choose the journeys to rebuild. Start with the ones the business cannot afford to interrupt. Record triggers, channel choices, exclusions, reply handling and stop conditions.
- Confirm WhatsApp asset ownership. Identify the Meta Business Portfolio, WhatsApp Business Account, number, billing owner and provider access. Meta’s current provider-migration guidance describes eligible number and template transfers, with requirements and limitations. It is not a guarantee that every template or application record will move unchanged.
- Test the cutover. Send to consenting test recipients, confirm incoming replies, check variables and links, and verify that purchase and opt-out events stop follow-up. Assign an owner for failures and agree on fallback arrangements with both providers.
Use the retention-platform migration checklist for the broader data, automation, team and rollback plan. Keep the existing system available until the agreed acceptance checks are complete, subject to the providers’ migration requirements.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Interakt alternative for an Indian retention team?
Choose by the workflow that needs improvement. CampaignHQ covers Interakt’s WhatsApp jobs and adds email and SMS in the same journeys. Other candidates may fit connected messaging, multi-number operations or Shopify commerce. Keep Interakt on the shortlist if it already handles the required job.
Do I need to replace Interakt to add email?
Not necessarily. Compare a supported connection to your email platform with a system that runs both channels. Test contact updates, consent, stop conditions and reporting across the full journey. The number of dashboards matters less than whether the handoffs work.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number when switching providers?
Meta documents migration between solution partners and WhatsApp Business Accounts for eligible numbers. Confirm your account and number requirements with both providers before scheduling the move. Number migration does not mean every contact record, conversation or automation transfers automatically.
What should I include in a vendor trial?
Run a representative journey from its trigger to a customer reply and final outcome. Include a purchase, an opt-out and an agent handoff. Check the resulting customer record and report, then record any manual work needed to make the process reliable.
Will switching from Interakt lower my WhatsApp message costs?
Only the provider’s part of the bill. Meta sets the per-message fee by category and recipient country, and it is the same whichever provider sends the message. Compare platform fees, any amount added per message, and the cost of users, numbers and integrations, quoted for the same monthly volume.
Take one failed workflow to the demo. Ask the vendor to complete it, including the exceptions. Switch only when the improvement is clear enough to justify the migration work.
